Kill Billy

CC-Music-Selection by Machtdose for Creative Commons at Free Music Archive

Independently from our last curation we were also invited lately for doing another music selection for Creative Commons itself. Which is again a big honour for us! You can find the selection there at the Free Music Archive. This is a portal which started last year and which has grown tremendously in this short time. You really can get lost there for hours and will find a bunch of excellent music there.

I’ve decided to give a little overview over the last few years and to present some of the tracks which are still one of my favourites. Some true classics I still listen to on a regular basis. Could be a good start if the whole CC-thing is new to you – but even if you’re involved you could still find some nice discoveries out of my list.

We’re late this month. Anyhow, I hope it was worth to wait. This time it is a very ambient start and this lasts the whole first half of the show – perfect to survive the sh*tty weather we have right now, – but the other, more up-tempo half should keep you warm too.

Rebel Music Volume 4 curated by Machtdose

Rebel Music Volume 4 @ bitrebels.com We were invited by Fernando Fonseca (who is among other things co-head of the PublicSpaces Lab) to curate one episode of the excellent „Rebel Music“ Series published in tradition of Music Monday on Bit Rebels. Its goal is to promote cc-licensed music which is worth a listening. If you don’t know Bit Rebels, it’s a fundamental site to get informed about the latest trends in the online world and I definitely recommend to put it to your feedreader if you haven’t already.

I’ve decided to select tracks mainly released in 2009 from different styles and genres to give an overview how rich and diversified the netaudio / netlabels scene is by now. And also most of it wasn’t ever played in our podcasts, so it should be still interesting for all our fellow listeners :) .

So please go to Bit Rebels by clicking the cover on the left or this link: Rebel Music Volume 4 – there you can listen to the single tracks and also download the whole thing (for free of course). Don’t forget to leave a comment there!
