Über Hercules & Love Affair ist wahrscheinlich alles gesagt. 2008 war ihr Jahr, 2010 könnte ihr zweites werden. Das neue Album steht kurz vor der Veröffentlichung. Leider kann man sich nicht sicher sein, dass der Laden auch voll wird, wenn eins von drei Deutschland-Konzerten im Rhein-Main-Gebiet stattfindet. Deshalb an dieser Stelle der eindringliche Hinweis: Leute, schaut euch das an! Am kommenden Mittwoch spielen Hercules & Love Affair im Hafen 2 in Offenbach. Und, man glaubt es kaum, es gibt noch Karten.
Hercules & Love Affair sind das House-Projekt von Andy Butler, der um sich herum so illustre Menschen wie Antony (von Antony And The Johnsons), Kim Ann Foxman (Acid-House-DJ und Schmuckdesignerin) und Nomi (performte mit Debbie Harry und Coco Rosie) schart. Mit ihnen belebt er den Geist von Disco etwa 30 Jahre nach dem Höhepunkt der Disco-Ära. Hercules & Love Affair spielen raffinierten und leidenschaftlichen House. Glamour und Melancholie, Fröhlichkeit und Clubbing sind die Bestandteile ihrer Disco-beeinflussten Musik. Oder wie die i-D schreibt: »Four disco fanatics bringing a much needed glitter glamour revival to a dancefloor near you«.
