Ted Sirota gehört zu den Aushängerschildern der vitalen jungen Jazz-Szene aus Chicago. Selbst noch kein Mitdreißiger, kann er schon auf mehr als 20 Jahre Erfahrung als Schlagzeuger in den unterschiedlichsten Bands (u.a. Last Kwartet, Eddy Kirkland’s Energy Band, Sabertooth Jazz Quartett) zurückblicken. Seine eigene Band Ted Sirota’s Rebel Souls gründete er 1996 zusammen mit Jeff Parker, Rob Mazurek, die man beide von so illustren Bands wie TORTOISE, ISOTOPE, THE SEA AND CAKE uvm. kennt u. das gemeinsam entstandene Album „Propaganda“ bekam ausnahmslos überschwengliche Kritiken.
