Wounded: The Legacy of War by canadian musician and photographer Bryan Adams presents portraits of young British soldiers who have suffered life-changing injury in Iraq and Afghanistan or during a training excersise. The images come with haunting interviews providing a narrative to each person’s journey to recovery. You can check out more about the series in his book.
Media Artist Franz Reimer got the idea for his performance clip Justice Has Been Done from White House photographer Pete Souza’s now iconic press photo so-called »Situation Room«, which was taken at 4:06 pm on May 1, 2011. It captures President Obama and his national security team as they watched the killing of Osama bin Laden live on a screen. Reimer’s reenactment of this unprecedented media event was worked out step by step.
Banksy is for ages now constantly working on the highest level of civil disobedience. This stencil showing a group of pigeons holding anti-immigration banners towards an exotic-looking bird was quickly removed by the District Council of Clacton-on-Sea, England, which said someone had complained it was racist. Usually nothing to worry about, better removed than being stolen by art collectors.
