Alles bei The Art of Pingpongcountry dreht sich um Tischtennis, Country-Musik sowie der Beschäftigung mit der visuellen Welt des PingPongCountrys. In den PPC Spielregeln heißt es: »Nehmen Sie sich einen Schläger und begeben Sie sich an die Tischtennisplatte. Dort treffen Sie auf Gleichgesinnte. Fragen Sie, ob oder wann einen neue Runde beginnt, andernfalls warten Sie einfach ab und genießen Sie die Atmosphäre – Ihre Kindheit holt Sie gerade ein. Jetzt haben Sie diverse Runden gespielt und die Kelle liegt Ihnen feucht in der Hand. Gehen Sie jetzt zur Bar und trinken Sie viel Bier. Versuchen Sie es noch einmal.«
»pingpongcountryclash verbindet Kunst und Countrymusik zu einem Barsportereignis der anderen Art: War der Rundlauf früher eine Notlösung, wird er bei PPC zu einem Spektakel zwischen Leibesertüchtigung und Sinnesschärfung, bei der jede/r dabei sein kann, insofern er die Regeln des PPC beachtet: „Ein Spieler ist hilfreich – wenn jemand Ärger hat, reicht er ihm die Hand oder den Schläger“ um eine zu nennen. Gewinnen ist nicht so wichtig wie das Spiel mit Gleichgesinnten: Hier in Frankfurt umgeben von der visuellen Welt des PPC, die im weitesten Sinne Themen der Country-Welt und des Tischtennissportes zitiert, Tafelbild und Videoarbeit einschließt, und in Form einer Installation ihren Ausdruck findet. Eine lustvolle Wiederaneignung des PPC also, der schon weltweit gereist ist, seine Wurzeln aber in Berlin hat. Country Tunes und Remco Schuurbiers und Bijan Dawallu als ‚Schallplattenunterhalter‘ begleiten durch den Abend.
