A Riot In A Jam Jar
A nice mixture of genre-established artist Slinkachu, a snow globe and protest culture in small: James Cauty created short riot scene miniatures in jam jars and characterized them as »Greenpeace Armageddon Factoid Riot« or »French Extremist Students Contained«. In addition to the sculptures the artist made a film for every scene. Both is shown here. Btw. Cauty is best known as one half of the hitmaking duo The KLF and as co-founder of The Orb.

»Gisela« is a wonderful short film from Katja Baumann produced with the aid of Photoshop. The computer application displays the setting where the action takes place by moving image layers.The animation itself tells the story of germany’s first female bank-robber.

Willkommen/Welcome to The Wheels Of Steel: Turntables in your browser, einer browserbasierten Computerspielerei für die postadoleszente Gluckenleserschaft dieses Blogs. Zwo Zwölfzehner und ein Mixer in falsch – fätisch ist die Chose starring Start/Stop-Taste, 33 und 45 RPM, Einschaltknopf, Scratchfunktion, Crossfader und Gain-Regler. Lässt sich prima anwenden. Und für die Doofies unter euch gibt’s sogar ein Demo auf YouTube. Mehr Details samt technischem Firlefanz gibt’s hier. Übrigens: Über ein Eingabefeld unterhalb der Plattenspieler könnt ihr sogar eigene URLs zu MP3-Stücken eingeben, die dann ebenfalls auf dem Plattenteller landen. Spätestens dann wird’s richtig nett.
