Fight For Your Right Revisited

»This is possibly the most ambitious, over the top music video ever recorded«, sagt man hier. HOT!

Blödes Orchester

Irgendwie so blöd wie der Name, aber richtig gut: »Blödes Orchester«.

Arranged like a symphony orchestra, approximately 200 antique vacuums, mixers and washers are transformed into musical instruments. They form an ensemble that the conductor, harpsichordist and composer Michael Petermann, alias weiserrausch.de, has now completed after eight years of preparation: The Stupid Orchestra.

Erinnert mich an »Music For One Apartment And Six Drummers«, auf den ich vor fünf Jahren mal verlinkt habe. Der Film ist mittlerweile auch auf Vimeo und in deutlich besserer Qualität zu sehen.

Nine Types Of Light

Don’t miss these clips, not always overly demanding, but good enough to deal with it for a few minutes. Furthermore the music is continuously great. One of my favourite clips comes from Scissor Sisters for their last single »Invisible Light«. Definitely take time to finish reading because of the link to the »Nine Types Of Light« Movie, which was put online by TV On The Radio yesterday.

TV On The Radio – »Nine Types Of Light« (The Movie!!!)

TVOTR: „The movie is meant to be a visual re-imagining of the record, and includes a music video for every song on the album. The band personally asked their friends and the filmmakers they admsired to help direct the music videos. Tunde Adebimpe, the director for the full Nine Types of Light movie, storybooked the music videos together with interviews from local New Yorkers on various topics, including dreams, love, fame and the future. Tunde also directed the music video for Forgotten.“

Scissor Sisters – »Invisible Light«

FaltyDL»Gospel of Opal« (Feat. Anneka) from the album »You Stand Uncertain« (Planet Mu)
Directed by Ben Sopher.

K-S.H.E. – »Double Secret« from the album »Routes Not Roots« (Skylax Records)
Video by the29nov Films.

Two Door Cinema Club – »What You Know« from the album »Tourist History« (Kitsuné Music)
Directed by Lope Serrano.

Kreisky – »Scheiße, Schauspieler« from the album »Trouble« (Wohnzimmer Records/Buback Tonträger)
Directed by Jenseide.

Iron

Some great shots, clean and artificial, a dramatic atmosphere, brightly polished black and white sequences and last but not least the use of a super slow motion – director Yoann Lemoine knows to exaggerate a lot. The clip to Woodkids song »Iron« is highly confusing and leaves you speechless for a while. This guy knows how to aestheticise music by images.

Will Do

Am 15. April erscheint das neue Album von TV On The Radio (»Nine Types of Light«). Als kleinen Vorgeschmack hat die New Yorker Band ihr neues Musikvideo zu dem Stück »Will Do« veröffentlicht. Hierbei handelt es sich offensichtlich um den ersten Teil einer Konzeptarbeit: TV On The Radio haben alle zehn Stücke von »Nine Types of Light« verfilmt und werden diese wohl im Laufe des Jahres veröffentlichen. In welcher Form auch immer. Ich bin gespannt.
