One Hour Exposures Capture

Great series of black and white photos by American photographer Matthew Pillsbury. Using large format cameras, he captures images with hour long exposures. The results are ghostlike, sublime and beautiful.

Failed Memory

In contrast to old paintings, digital images never lose their colour or fade away. They have quite different problems. »Failed Memories« by David Szauder combines traces of use and age with digital errors and pixel trash.

Here Comes The Sun

Joe Webb’s collages are done with vintage magazines and printed ephemera that he has collected over the years. His work includes political and humorous pieces as well as surreal movie collages and minimalistic abstract work. As a basic rule, two very different types of images cause a crazy clash. Cutting accurately with scissors, Webb is a master of his genre: »No computer trickery« as he has assured us on his page.

Raton Salvaje

Amusement parks without amusement – Jaume Albert Martí’s »Raton Salvaje« is a portrait series of fairground ride and tombola ticket sellers sitting in their tiny cash desks – with colors that are bright and gaudy. Martí’s photos provide you a rarely moment, because without the audience around the focus moves to the workers in their cell.

Getty Station

A really exceptional art space has opened in the middle of Chelsea on the West Side of the borough of Manhattan a while ago. Gallerist and art collector Michael Shvo bought an abandoned gas station where he has installed a temporary art exhibition. »Kids don’t really see sheep in the middle of New York at a gas station,« Shvo said and picked up Francois-Xavier Lalanne’s sheep sculptures. The installation is one of many planned artworks that will appear in the location before Shvo finishes constructing a luxury building in place of the former gas station. Business as usual what we might call.
