Coming Soon

In recent years, outsized billboards have spread the commercial hubs of New York City. Most are replaced after several weeks by others. Like background actors, participants stroll around in front of this super billboards. »Coming Soon« by Natan Dvir is an exploration of our visual relationship with the branded city centers and the commercial environment we live in. Great theater with a fancy backdrop.

Day Driver

Rather curious arranged photographs filtered through the eyes and actions of Nepali citizens. Too stagy to be snapshots, the images suggest bizarre sitcoms in which there are several anomalous walk-on parts. American artist Stuart Hawkins has lived and worked in Nepal for many years.

NOW!

On October 21, the top videos selected by the YouTube Play jury were revealed and celebrated at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. The videos, which can be viewed below and on youtube.com/play, will be presented at the Guggenheim Museums in New York, Bilbao, Berlin, and Venice on October 22–24, 2010. They comprise the ultimate YouTube playlist: a selection of the most unique, innovative, groundbreaking video work being created and distributed online during the past two years.
