For the cover I used a photo © by Nick Moran

Last month I’ve had no time for producing an episode, so this is the first episode of 2013… and I had to pack a real big pile of great music in this one. Means: it’s a shame, but I also had to exclude some other good track. On the other hand: this should be pure gold :)

Errata: alfadeo are not from Berlin as I told in the show (they’re based in Freiburg / Basel).

Staring Out the Window

Fulton Lights – »Staring Out the Window« directed by Ninian Doff. Crows and humans share the ability to keep a good rhythm, at least director Ninian Doff believes so. Crows with hands, holding a microphone, playing drums and hopping around. Once you’ve seen this, you will think every crow is hiding a pair under their wings.

Flying over the Tulips Fields

Looking at the tulip fields can spring a few surprises, particularly the view from above. Flying over the Tulips Fields by Normann Szkop is the fantastic series about natural colors and man-made patterns. These photos were shot in Anna Paulowna, a town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. This brings me to an incredible film project which I had kept around for a while: »Bloemencorso, the annual parade of flowers, takes place in Zundert and features some of the most creative and modern examples of the floral sculpting form you’re likely to see.« Enjoy!

Cirrus

Bonobo – Cirrus directed by Cyriak. The music video by New York-based producer Bonobo is animated in a most fantastic way, all of it layered into a kaleidoscope of pretty colors and vintage footage.

Robot Johnson

Recently, an amateur filmmaker shoots mind-blowing footage of a famous nightclub in Offenbach, Germany, as you have never seen it before. After fourteen years, the filmmaker was the first to be able to establish the true identity of this legendary place.
