Bad Things That Could Happen

This Is It are a collective of illustrators, animators, artists and designers based in London. I am a bit late on this, but »Bad Things That Could Happen« is amazing and filled with so many good ideas – a film they made using giant props made out of cardboard about bad things that could happen. Their homepage is well worth a visit.

The City Of Samba

Keith Loutit is a master of his trade, often copied, never matched. »The City Of Samba« by Keith Loutit and Jarbas Agnelli is one of the best examples of the tilt-shift photography I’ve ever seen. Captured during Carnaval of 2011 in Rio de Janeiro. The project is in Vimeo’s Top 12 Videos of 2012.

LED Freerunning

Quite luminous in its own way, fascinating use of LED technique: »Light Emitting Dudes takes a team of freerunners, geared up from head to toe with LED lights, and sets them loose on the streets of Bangkok at night. With acrobatic grace, they carved up the already buzzing nightlife spots while adding their own flair and colour to the mix.« If that’s still not enough, watch »Firefly«, Skateboarding at night with blue LED’s.

Cloudy

Great for young and old: »This short is an exploration into the Clouds. The idea of clouds singing and performing their duties in a joyful manner show us that everything in our world has a role and a purpose. A sweet visual soundscape that takes the viewer through a personal journey into the sky. Sing, dance and relax as you follow a sweet cast of clouds and raindrops through an entrancing adventure you’ll wish to take over and over again.« Cloudy is a short by Miami based art collaborative FriendsWithYou. This sweetness makes you happy for a while.

The Theory

Great cinema from a small source: »The Theory« presents the world’s smallest all action police chase. »Directing duo The Theory presents the tiniest police chase ever seen, made using the world’s smallest ‚pocket video projectors‘. Featuring an escaped convict, a determined cop and a fully armed police helicopter, Speed of Light takes ‚projection mapping‘ to a whole new (and low) level.«

transits

Video installation by German artist Ursula Damm. The artwork uses a self-organizing network to process video footage from the Aeschenplatz, Basel. It also depicts the flow of traffic from a computer’s perspective. 6 min. preview of the 1h5 minutes video.
