Back at last! I hope you’ve missed us a little bit. It really took over three months before I got internet connection in my new home, can you believe it? Anyways, of course we probably missed a lot of netaudio gems in the meantime. I just made a quick tour through the last months releases, so don’t blame me please if I have overlooked something profound for this show. Also I now have an extra room for my desk, but it is a really small one and has still naked walls – that must be the reason why my moderations are sounding so sh*tty, like I’m sitting in a bathtub or what. I will try to make this better for the next month (yay! we’re going in monthly periods back again). So all in all: a quick and quirky recorded thingie here, but I hope you like it, because on the other side we have really great stuff, songs I’ve played for a wedding, wall-of-sounds (or: douching guitars) and especially the second half of the show goes directly through the ceiling in my opinion. Bei den Wombats ist das beste Antidepressiva Musik von Joy Division. Dazu getanzt, und die Laune ist wieder happy. CSS gehen mit Death from Above ins Bett (Musik zum Sex ist weit verbreitet), der Sänger der Teenagers würde gerne Starlett Johansson heiraten, Phoenix sehen in Franz Liszt den ersten großen Rockstar der Musikgeschichte und Oma-Hans-Sänger Jens Rachut bedankt sich auf der letzten 7-Inch der Bandgeschichte bei seinem Label und – den Wipers. Lässt man Primal Screams‘ »Some Velvet Morning« und Lemonheads‘ »Dirty Robot« featuring Kate Moss als netten Versuch von ihr durchgehen, das Mikro selbst mal in die Hand zu nehmen, geht der Hushpuppies-Song ebenfalls an die Adresse einer Musikerin – und an John Lennons‘ Rolls Royce (Moss singt übrigens ähnlich schräg wie Nico). Wohin mit dem Hass?

Gut finden, muss gut sein. Finden ja alle gut. Ich auch. Dabei ist die Melodie nicht mal besonders eingängig oder schön oder heavy oder böse. Distelmeyer hat einfach nur zur richtigen Zeit das Richtige im Gepäck. Die Musik der Gegenwehr hat feine Antennen und die Hand am Sicherungskasten. Durchbrennen wäre hier eigentlich angesagt. Und bitte eine bisschen durchdrehen. »Wohin mit dem Hass, den ich in mir spür‘, frisst sich wie Rost nach innen.« Tiefschwarze Tinte, immer geradeaus, am Ende dann aber doch wieder von kolossaler Uneindeutigkeit und zu alt für die Jugend. Herzlich willkommen im Diskurs, den ja eigentlich keiner mehr will, am wenigsten die da oben.

»Wohin mit dem Hass?« ist über seine Homepage zu hören. Am 25.09. erscheint »HEAVY!«. Sein erstes Soloalbum.

Portuguese Nuggets & Thaipop

60’s aus Portugal und 70’s aus Thailand. Das klingt erstmal sehr vertraut, da fühlt man sich daheim. Der merkwürdig exotische Unterton, wahrscheinlich menschlichen Ursprungs, lässt allerdings nicht lange auf sich warten. Da wird’s dann auch schön und unterscheidbar von jener Musik, die in unseren Breitengraden selbstverständlich ist.
