Dieses sonderbare Am-Ton-Vorbei liegt weit vor »hat was«. Erinnert an die frühen Monty Python, ist irgendwie Dada und womöglich so ungewollt trocken, dass einem für kurze Zeit der Atem stockt. Die 70er-Jahre-Berufsgruppen-Songs aus der Sendung mit der Maus sollten das bekommen, was ihnen gebührt: Kultstatus. Die Sendung hatte mit dem Schrotthändlerlied und den sechs von der Müllabfuhr ihre musikalische Sternstunde. Lach- und Sachgeschichten eben.

As the most times we start very cautious to get more tempo until the endand again you have the whole way from dreamy, melancholic melodies to danceable stuff (for instance a real funk bomb is waiting for you…). I hope you like it and don’t hesitate to leave a comment.

Using everyday objects as source materials, Matmos has released albums based on the sounds of surgery and medical technology, balloons, plastic objects, and rose petals, merging music concrete and progressive electronic styles. Working with musicians like Icelandic singer Björk, Terry Riley, Antony and the Johnsons, Kronos Quartet, J Lesser and many others, Matmos has gained an international reputation for their unique sound and musical imagination.
Matmos will be performing a concert with Frankfurt based Le miel qui siffle at the end of july in Atelierfrankfurt. Expect improvisation, Chopin and spacey minimal synth freakouts. (Listen to Matmos on MySpace )
