jazznotjazz Festival 2.0

Noch drei Tage, dann ist es soweit und das zweite jazznotjazz Festival geht im Mousonturm über die Bühnen. Neben den drei exzellenten Live-Bands Bozzoo Bajou, Dublex Inc. und Alice Russel auf der großen Bühne des Mousonturms, die sowohl Soul als auch Rhythm & Blues aus ihren Roots in die eigene Musik einfließen lassen, wird der erste Stock mit Cristallobar und Studiobühne kurzum in den »Jazz Room« verwandelt, welcher sich in der Tradition der Londoner Jazzdance-Szene bewegt. Kein live gespielter Jazz, sondern eine andere Facette des Genres, die hierzulande fast unbekannt ist, aber seit Ende der 70er Jahre in England eine lange Tradition hat. Die anschließende Party mit den DJs Jan Hagenkoetter, Florian Seyberth, Michael Rütten & Perry Louis aus dem Jazz Cafe in London kann dann bis in den frühen Morgen gehen. Auf der Webseite im Veranstaltungsbereich gibt es übrigens noch Videos von Alice Russell und Boozoo Bajou, die euch einen Eindruck der Künstler verschaffen und natürlich der Radio Podcast mit Musik der Beteiligten.

What do we have this month? First of all:

Our little podcast show is now 4 years old!

Then: a lot of „Lights“ in title or artist name, surprisingly high amount of new netlabels I’ve never had before in the show – two of them even with two tracks at once and the rest as you know it: a mixbag full of everything from ambient, folky stuff to dancefloor killers. If moderation sounds a bit tired: well, that was because I was.

Hier geht’s demnächst mit den besten Alben des Jahrzehnts weiter. Ich weiß ja bis heute nicht, wie es heißt. Die Nuller Jahre? Oder gar die ’00er? Klingt alles scheußlich und gar nicht. Nun gut. Jedenfalls war das Jahrzehnt keine Nullnummer, in jeglicher Hinsicht. Ein kleiner Best-Of-Vorgeschmack gefällig? The 101 Best Music Videos of the Decade mit vielen großartigen Entdeckungen. Der Countdown für die eigene Liste läuft. Spitzt schon mal die Bleistifte.

Schönes Projekt

Souvenirs from earth is the first TV station broadcasting a 24/7 program of Film and Video art, transforming bigger flat screens into an art terminal, giving access to the avant-garde of visual cultures. We first presented our concept of a TV channel for „video paintings“, close to the ideas of Nam June Paik and Brian Eno, at London’s ICA in 1998 and at the Venice Biennale in 1999. The program finally went on air in 2006. We are available on the French and German Cable TV networks. Artists and filmmakers are welcome to submit their works.
