Lichter Filmparty mit Vladislav Delay (FIN) Touchy Mob (Berlin)
Am kommenden Samstag ist Party @ LICHTER Filmfest. Los geht’s mit einer Live-Performance des Berliner Indie-Lieblings Ludwig Plath alias Touchy Mob. Zwischen Minimalismus und einem Hauch Folk, zwischen Stimme, Akustikgitarre und einer gehörigen Portion Elektronik wird sich Touchy Mob auf der Tanzfläche verlieren. Danach übernimmt der finnische Electro-Produzent Vladislav Delay – auch bekannt unter dem Namen Luomo – das Kommando über die Turntables. Sein Stil: mal kräftig aufbrausend und experimentierfreudig, dann wieder menschlich verspielt, ruhig und intim. In der globalen Elektronik-Szene gilt er seit Ewigkeiten als legendär. Wir sind glücklich, dass wir ihn nun für einen Gig in Frankfurt engagieren konnten.

Langsam wird es Kult: Schon zum dritten Mal bringen uns Michael Dreher und Eva Schoner als DJ-Duo Shona Turner in Festivalstimmung. Mit einer Mischung aus Pop und Electrobeats will das markante Doppel den Frankfurtern wieder mal einheizen. Michael Dreher kennt man in Fran en Gastauftritt gegeben. Wenn Eva Schoner nicht gerade Platten mischt, dann sitzt sie am Schneidetisch und bastelt visuelle Kompositionen vom Feinsten.

Mit Anja Czioska begrüßen wir eine wahre Koriphäe des Franfurter Nachtlebens. Die Künstlerin hat die Underground- und Kunstszene der Stadtmaßgeblich geprägt. Bei LICHTER zeigt Anja Czioska ihren Film „The Rise of the Underground“, für den sie mit ihrer 16mm-Kamera in den Jahren 2009 bis 2011 Künstler in ihren Ateliers, bei Ausstellungseröffnungen, inszenierten Happenings und Performances in Frankfurt begleitete. Das ehemalige Mitglied der Band 3 Pussy Kisses legt heute nur noch selten auf. Zur Unterstützung holt sie mit Röhrscheid, Weil, Vatter und Konrad ein nicht weniger legendäres Team an die Turntables. Das Motto des Abends: »60ties Explosion«.

Ein ganzes Kollektiv feinster Frankfurter DJs beehrt uns am Freitag. Los geht es mit Nico und Maximilian Best. Nico, früher verantwortlich für den legendären Club im Ostbahhof, bereichert das Frankfurter Nachtleben aktuell mit der Neuauflage der Kenzo-Partyreihe im Atelierfrankfurt. Zur Verstärkung hat er sich den De:Bug-Redakteur Maximilian Best an die Seite geholt. Später am Abend treten Joscha Baumert und Jacob Lauer an die Plattenteller. Baumert, Chef des Plattenlabels Deo Records, legt sonst im Robert Johnson oder im Lido auf, außerdem dürfte er treuen Freunden des ERSTEN STOCKS noch von der einen oder anderen Party ein Begriff sein. Und auch Jacob Lauer hat LICHTER bereits die Ehre gegeben. Zusammen mit seinem Bruder machte er im vergangenen Jahr das Kino zur Tanzfläche. Außerdem hat er sich mit dem DJ-Kollektiv Hobo House einen Namen gemacht.

Gimme the loot is one of the most light-hearted films about youth culture for a long time, simultane-ously a comedy and background social analysis. New York is shown simultaneously as a place of almost unlimited possibilities and a place of high social barriers.
Little seems unusual in an unprepossessing, middle-class street in Recife in Brazil, apart from the now normal bars on windows and surveillance cameras. There is obviously no rational reason why a private security service should want to send its officers here. But while we fol-low the company’s resourceful boss as he convinces the residents of his offer, we learn the complicated and contradictory stories that make up this area of the city. Their path leads them from Paris into a forest, where the calm and the moon put their friendship in a different light. L’âge atomique observes youth and relationships in the resonating cavity of the city. Héléna Klotz films her figures lov-ingly, secretly and honestly. We follow her on the search for their identity and their views of the world.
The ambitious Governor Madamji wants to turn the sleepy, provincial town of Bharat Nagar into the Indian Shanghai, a shiny city of offices and luxury apartments. That people get left behind is not a problem. When Dr. Ahmedi, a well-known critic of the project, is killed in a hit-and-run incident after an appearance in the town, the investigative ambition of the camer-aman Joginder stirs. On an accidentally recorded tape, he discovers evidence of the corrupt machinations behind the project. A racing, action thriller is the result, which is based on plot of the famous novel “Z” – filmed in 1969 by Costa-Gavras. With the bling of Bollywood and an associated amount of political commitment, Shanghai highlights the dark sides of Indian politics.
