Gema am Ende
Die GEMA wähnt starke Partner an ihrer Seite: Die Musiker und Komponisten selbst sind es, die völlig zu Recht eine Verwertungsgesellschaft für sich beanspruchen, sich in Ermangelung an Alternativen allerdings nahezu kritiklos zur GEMA bekennen. Diese „Besser-als-Nichts-Mentaliät“ ist brandgefährlich. Alternativmodelle, für die einzustehen es sich lohnen würde, stehen häufig nicht zur Debatte. Und so bleibt der komplexe Verteilerschlüssel des Monopolisten vor allem weiterhin eins: in Zement gegossen.
»Es kann und darf nicht sein, dass die GEMA auf alle Zeiten das Sagen hat. Irgendwann wird es zu einer marktwirtschaftlichen Regelung kommen, bei der der Künstler die Option hat, sich für eine Gesellschaft seiner Wahl zu entscheiden, die die Live-Rechte für ihn wahrnimmt«, sagt der renommierte Entertainment-Promoter Marek Lieberberg im Gespräch mit dem Hamburger StadtMagazin OXMOX. Lieberberg geht auch sonst mit der GEMA wenig zimperlich um. Ein Plädoyer für die Öffnung des GEMA-Monopols.
