Und weiter geht’s mit ByteFM. Einen Sendetipp, den wir gerne weitergeben, verspricht er doch einen hochinteressanten Blick auf die aktuelle Wahlkampfdebatte der – ja wer wohl – Amerikaner. Von und mit Klaus Walter:

Is it because I’m black? Diese Frage stellt der Soulsänger Syl Johnson 1970. Liegt es an meiner Hautfarbe, dass ich keine Chancen habe? 38 Jahre später ist die Hautfarbe von Barack Obama eines der wichtigsten Themen im US-Wahlkampf. Ist er schwarz? Oder ist er bloß nichtweiß? Ist er der Kandidat der Schwarzen, wie die Clintons suggerieren? Also kein Kandidat für alle Nichtschwarzen? 1955 war die Lage eindeutig. Als die schwarze Näherin Rosa Parks sich weigert, ihren Sitzplatz im Bus für einen Weißen freizumachen, stößt sie die schwarze Bürgerrechtsbewegung an. Am 4. Februar wäre Rosa Parks 95 Jahre alt geworden. Obama und Sister Rosa – Gründe genug für ein »Was ist Musik?« zu Fragen von Blackness und Whiteness in der Popmusik.
